[image description: photoset of five images showing the braids used in Gretchen Jones’s s/s 2012 show.  The braids feature a loop of hair at the back of the crown of the head with lace braids down the sides of the back of the head, which come together into a six-stranded braid at the nape of the neck.]

I don’t really care for the clothes (just not my style), but I want to do these braids on someone.  This page has instructions.  I don’t think they’re entirely correct, though- the lace braids aren’t that loose, and (from looking at the back stage pictures and a close examination of the finished photos) I’m pretty sure the bottom part of the braid isn’t actually a six-strand braid, but is two english braids pinned together and then tied off together at the bottom.

Beth- if you come to Indiana we need to have a braiding party! How long is your hair? For some reason I thought it was...
